...with dental implants by ziterion made of ceramics or titanium
Laughter is healthy. To laugh naturally also means to show your teeth. A lot of people,
however, don't dare to do so because one tooth or even several teeth are missing.
There are several ways to avoid having to proof the “courage to reveal gaps”.
The loss of teeth need not necessarily be caused by poor care or hygiene as dental diseases are
often also due to inherited conditions. Aesthetic deficiencies may cause psychological pressure
because the patient's self-confidence often suffers together with the aesthetic appearance.
Besides conventional dentures (dental prosthesis, bridge) dental implants offer a lot of
possibilities to close the gap.
Bio ceramics – metal-free for high aesthetic demands
ziterion offers diverse implants made of titanium or of a special bio ceramic material (zirconia ceramics). Those implants serve as artificial roots which are anchored in the jaw bone to fill a gap. A crown, a bridge or a complete set of dentures is fixed on them. In this way, the gap is closed, as stable as with a natural tooth. Compared to conventional methods, this treatment assures a considerably better stability of the dentures because the problem of bone atrophy, which often arises in case of a conventional dental prosthesis, is avoided: after the loss of teeth, there is no more load on the bone, the bone weakens and disappears more and more. The result is an “aged” appearance. A treatment with implants stops this process. The natural level of the jaw bone can be preserved.
The surgical treatment
The implant operation is a very gentle procedure. In fact, the treatment is no more uncomfortable than the extraction of a tooth. Depending on the gap size, one or more implants are planted into the jaw bone. In case one tooth has to be replaced, one implant – on which a crown will be fixed – is sufficient. A larger gap is filled with two implants. In case a complete dental prosthesis is needed several implants are anchored individually in the jaw bone. After the operation the implant grows together with the bone. During that time the implant has to be protected against pressure. Depending on the patient's bone structure the usual growing-in period in the upper jaw is about six months and about three months in the lower jaw. Due to the special shape of the ziterion implants together with their roughened surface, a considerably shorter growing-in period has now been made possible. During that time the gap is protected by an interim provision before the dentures are fabricated and fixed on the implants.
A durable alternative
Implants need regular care and must be protected against infections. An annual control by your dentist furthermore assures their long durability. Implants of titanium or of bio ceramics are biocompatible, they are not rejected by the body and do not cause any allergies. Bio ceramic implants also offer the advantage of being white, as titanium implants may shine through a thin mucous membrane. Implants made of zirconia ceramics are a high quality and durable alternative for patients who decide against a metal implant.
